Good Morning Families,   As we wind down the school year I will be sending home academic resources for you to keep those skills sharp over summer. The purple sheet going home today lets you know at what level your child is reading at, and where to find those books. I encourage students to find “just right books” which means they are books that the student can read independently but are also not too easy. These books are typically the books indicated as their independent reading level, which is written on the purple sheet.   Typically at some point during the summer, the online platforms “shut down” and reboot in our system so that the new teacher has access to that information. If you are trying to log onto these platforms and are unable to at some point during the summer, that is why; it’s not you, it’s the program!   Some important dates that are fast approaching to keep on your radar for the end of the year are listed below:   Thursday, May 24: Color Run for all students Friday, May 25 and Monday May 28: No school for students Wednesday, May 30: Field Day (Please wear non-skid shoes and comfortable clothing) Thursday, May 31: Planetarium Field Trip (NO BAG LUNCH NEEDED!) On Thursday mornings students will have the opportunity to showcase a skill or talent that they are proud of. Students who wanted to share, have already signed up; the dates for their showcase are below. Please help your student and make sure they are prepared for their showcase date. Unfortunately, with limited time left in the school year we must remain firm on these dates; we will be unable to reschedule if your student is absent or comes unprepared.   Thursday, May 17:Miguel-Soccer Tricks, Vanesa-Violin, Abby-Science experiment     Thursday, May 24: Gage-Dane, Jose-Soccer tricks, Easton-Soccer Tricks, Sara-Singing     Over the course of the next 2 weeks in Superkids we will take a look at ow and ou words as well as authors purpose with supporting evidence, what the prefix “re” means and writing a story across several pages (2 paragraph writing).   Our next spelling test will take place on Friday, May 18. The words are listed below: Cloud, town, round, loud, clown, brown, found, frown, sound, proud.   Following, our next spelling test will take place on Tuesday, May 29. The words are listed below: Slow, snow, blow, grow, low, give, warm, once, done, walk     In math we will be wrapping up our last unit on 3D shapes and geometry.
